Usefulness
The Type 85 is a common SMG with the 'Tons of Guns' option enabled. A range upgrade from pistols. However, it uses a lot of AP to fire making it inferior to most other SMG's. Mainly useful as an early source of 7.62 WP ammo.
Trivia
The correct caliber of the Type 85 is 7.62x25mm TT. Same caliber as the Soviet WW2 era Tokarev pistol and PPSh-41 SMG. A suppressed version of the Type 85 also exists with an integral suppressor and different sight arrangement calibrated for the Chinese 7.62x25mm Type 64 subsonic ammunition.
