The Steyr AUG (German: Armee Universal Gewehr, meaning "Army Universal Rifle") is a weapon introduced in Jagged Alliance 2.
Official description[]
"The 'Evil Assault Rifle' poster-child for US gun control lobbyists is the futuristic looking Austrian army standard rifle."
Pros: Long Range, High Damage
Cons: Hard to Repair
Attachments[]
- Sniper Scope (not available in JA2:Wildfire)
- Laser Scope
- Gun Barrel Extender
- Talon
- Bipod
Locations[]
- Tixa (doesn't always spawn)
- SAM Site south to Cambria (doesn't always spawn)
- Orta (at least one in the subterranean level, can be pick-pocketed from the guards)
- Tony (carries one as his personal weapon)
- Enemies in random sectors later in the game (when the IMP mercenary reaches 7th experience level and at least four towns are liberated)
Notes[]
- The AUG has the best range from all the 5,56mm firearms in Jagged Alliance 2 V.1.12, greater than FN-FAL and comparable to light machineguns.
- It doesn't wear off quickly, only AKM and H&K G11 are more reliable amongst the assault rifles.
- However, the AUG is quite difficult to repair - on par with FA-MAS and AK-74.
