Find and retrieve the Fallow Sapling is an optional quest in Jagged Alliance after Santino kills himself.
In the final sector, Sector 1, you need a healthy and strong merc to quickly skip and retrieve the sapling left by Santino. You have about two turns before another explosive destroys it.
Mines[]
You need to move the merc very fast as there are mines on the floor in the room. It is not certain you can afford the time to sweep the area with a metal detector.
Outcome[]
The only outcome is a major change in the final cutscene, which also depends on the outcome of the Rescue Brenda quest. You can either retrieve the sapling intact, retrieve it in a destroyed state or fail to retrieve it. Whether Brenda is alive or not adds a variant, resulting in six possible endings related to this quest alone.
