Trivia[]
- In Wildfire, the gun uses permanently(!) attached PSO-1 scope. PSO-1 scope is considered for assault weapons and has only 4x magnification. The real-life standard sniper scope of SVD is PSO-1M2, for ranges between 100 and 1300 meters.
- Jagged Alliance 2 inaccurately made the Dragunov and the AKM use the same ammunition. In reality, the original Dragunov is fed with 7,62*54mm Russian bullets, developed for Mosin bolt-action rifles back in 1891, while the aforesaid Kalashnikov's assault rifle works on 7,62*39mm rounds developed especially for those weapons. Those two bullets differ significantly in sizes and are not interchangeable.
Locations[]
- D2, SAM Site (random elite soldier drops it)
- Enemy patrols around Alma (can be pick-pocketed).
- Bobby Ray's Guns and Things - depending on Difficulty level and game settings. Mint condition rifles are more common than worn out ones.
Tips & tricks[]
- The Dragunov (just like the SKS) and the AKM (as well as Type 85) use the same ammunition - 7.62mm WP and those firearms can be loaded both from 10-round SKS/SVD magazines and 30-round ones for automatic weapons in the following ratio: one AKM/Type 85 magazine = 3 SVD/SKS magazines. The most efficient tactics is to carry two 30-round 7,62mm WP mags in small inventory slots instead of three 10-round mags of this type and simply reload when necessary.
